COLOR SYSTEM CONVERSION
This unit has a digital converter
system within, which converts color
system signals as follows.
Recording a TV program in different color system from the
received ones
Set the REC SYSTEM to the recording color system. (See page 44.)
To monitor the recording picture on the TV, set the OUTPUT SYSTEM to
the color system of the connected TV. (See page 42.)
Example
If you record a TV program in the United States (NTSC color system)
using the PAL system, your friend in the PAL area can also enjoy the
video.
Playback a tape recorded using different color system E
Set the OUTPUT SYSTEM to the color system of the connected TV. (See
page 42.)
Example
If you receive a movie software from your friend in the PAL area, you can
playback it on the TV in the United States (NTSC color system).
Duplicating a tape recorded using different color system E
Set the REC SYSTEM to the recording color system. (See page 44.)
To monitor the recording picture on the TV, set the OUTPUT SYSTEM to
the color system of the connected TV. (See page 42.)
Example
. If you duplicate an American movie (NTSC color system) using the PAL
system, your friend in the PAL area can enjoy the movie of the
duplicated tape.
If you duplicate a tape in PAL system using NTSCcolorsystem,
you can
watch the duplicated tape on the TV in the United States (NTSC color
system).
If a tape that is repeatedly dubbed or specially copy-protected
or recorded
with out-of-spec signals is played back, or any off-spec signal is input into
the VIDEO INPUT terminal, the color system converter may malfunction
and cause picture deformation.
