FINDING DESIRED LOCATIONS ON
TAPE
VISUAL SEARCH
Use the visual search function to cue the tape forward or to review a
portion of the tape by watching the high speed picture.

During playback, press the @/F FWD~
or ++/REW/r9
button.
(EWFFWD-:
To search in the forward direction.
+/REW/@:
To search in the reverse direction.
At the desired scene, press the b PLAY button.
Normal playback resumes.
If the @/F FWD~
or ++/REW/@I
button is kept pressing, low
speed visual search continues and normal playback is resumed when
the button is released,
When the color system changes in the visual search mode or playing back
the tape recorded at LP speed, the unit may fail to discriminate
the
system, and the color of the picture may be in monochrome.
This is
normal,
for when
the normal
playback
resumes,
the system
is
discriminated,
and the color recovers.
VARIABLE SPEED SEARCH
Visual searches can be done at variable
speeds in both the
forward and
reverse directions. Do this procedure on the remote control.

During playback, press the <+ or >VARIABLE
SEARCH
button repeatedly.
As the
> button is pressed, the forward speed gradually increases
in several steps.
As the <4
button is pressed, the forward playback speed gradually
decreases
in steps until a still picture is obtained. As the button is
pressed further, the speed of the reverse search increases in steps.
The relative tape speed and direction appears in the display: "+~"
or
"-"
in the reverse direction (slow to fast); "~~",
"~", or"~"
in the
forward direction (slow to fast).
At the desired scene, press the
PLAY button.
Normal playback resumes.
The unit automatically adjusts the tracking during slow motion playback.
Howeverr some noise lines may be present when using a cassette
recorded on another VCR.
. The speed range for variable speed searches depends upon the color
system.

tapes, noise lines may be more evident during high
speed searches.
. For MESECAM
tapes during slow forward or reverse searches, the
picture may shake, have noise lines ornocoloron
the screen throughout
fast-motion
scenes.
. During in the visual search, slow motion, or still picture mode, or when
playing
back tapes recorded
at LP or EP speed, the color may
disappear.
. During in the variable speed search mode, the sound is muted.
When the noise lines appear on the top or bottom of the screen during
slow motion playback, you can adjust bypressingthe
button TRACKING
– + on the remote control.
