4.5 EMC statements for USA
This equipment has been tested and found to comply
with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to
part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed
to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference in a residential installation. This
equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio
frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications. However, there
is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a
particular installation. If this equipment does cause
harmful interference to radio or television reception,
which can be determined by turning the equipment off
and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the
interference by one or more of the following
measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the equipment
and receiver.
Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit
different from that to which the receiver is
connected.
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV
technician for help.

4.6 Safety precautions for UK
The CIM module is not intended for use in
any home appliance, home automation,
home control system or consumer product
in the UK.
5. Installation
5.1 Fitting a cellular antenna
The antenna for CIM 290 must be connected to the
module to establish a connection to the cellular
network.
1. Connect the external antenna cable to the SMA
connector (pos. 1) of the CIM 290 manually.

The external antenna must always be
connected to the CIM 290.

5.2 Connecting the RS-485 communication
interface
1. Connect the wires according to the below table.
SW2 line termination needs to be
switched on if the unit is the last device
on a subnet.
LED3 shows the status of the RS-485
communication.

The RS-485 port must only be
connected to PELV circuits.
The RS-485 port should be used for local
firmware updates via GENIBus to CIMCIU PC
tool, or for connecting external Modbus RTU slave
fieldbus devices.
