3.2 Intended use
CIM 290-MA LPWAN GIC enables data transmission
based on LTE-M technology between the Grundfos
iSOLUTIONS cloud (GiC) and a Grundfos host
product with a CIM GENIbus interface slot, or to a
connected Modbus RTU slave device via the external
RS-485 port which is supported by the Grundfos
iSOLUTIONS cloud.
The products supported depend on the implemented
drivers on the Grundfos iSOLUTIONS cloud. Contact
Grundfos for the latest information on the supported
products.
Configuration of CIM 290 can be done via Grundfos
GO using BLE wireless communication.

Installation and operating instructions of the Grundfos
host product.
3.3 Applications
CIM (Communication Interface Module) 290 4G (LTE-
M) cellular-based interface transmits data from a host
product via cellular LTE-M technology to a Grundfos
iSOLUTIONS Cloud application, for
example, Grundfos Connect. A separate contract may
be required for data hosting and cellular data
traffic. The product requires a connected LTE
antenna. The CIM module is preconfigured with a
SIM card that has a Grundfos specific LTE-M roaming
profile.

3.4 Supported products

products are supported.
3.5 RS-485 communication interface
A Modbus RTU slave device can be connected to the
connector of the RS-485 communication interface.
The communication settings for baud rate, start/stop
bits and parity bits can be configured via the BLE
interface and Grundfos GO, or from the cloud.
