1.4 SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
a) This pump is intended for transfer of clean water
only. Transfer of sand or other abrasive materials
causes rapid wear and reduces the pump's
performance. Under no circumstances should
this pump be used to transfer corrosive liquids,
solvents, combustible or explosive substances
(petrol, oil), greases, oils or saline solutions or any
liquids other than clean water.
b) Never try to transfer liquids at temperatures over
35°C.
c) Always stop the engine before any maintenance or
cleaning operations.
d) Do not try to modify or repair this pump yourself,
in any way. If you think that your pump should be
repaired, take it to an approved service centre
or your dealer. Nevertheless, the maintenance
operations described at the end of the instructions
should be performed beforehand.
e) Check that all parts are protected against water
ingress.
f) This pump was designed for private use in
the home and garden. It was not designed for
continuous use, as a pool or pond pump, or for
professional use.
g) Check that the pump ventilation openings are not
totally or partially blocked.
h) The pump must stand on a suitable, stable and
flat support.
i) Dry running. To avoid running the pump dry, make
sure that the end of the suction pipe is always
immersed in the liquid to be transferred and that it
is not obstructed. Dry running causes overheating
that can seriously damage the pump.
j) The pump must never be used when people are in
the water being transferred.
k) This device may be used by children aged 8 or
over, or by people with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capacities, or those with no experience
or knowledge, if they are supervised by a person
in charge of their safety, providing surveillance or
prior instructions concerning the use of the device.
l) It is advisable to keep an eye on children to make
sure that they do not play with the device and to
keep them away from the area where it is working.
m) If a part is damaged, do not use the pump and
do not repair it yourself. Take the pump to a
specialised technician or an after-sales service
centre.
n) Use of any accessories other than those
