With the first usage a slight smell can arise (minimal smoke development is
also possible). This is normal and dissipates after a short time. Provide for
sufficient ventilation. For example, open a window.
6) Disconnect the plug and allow the appliance to cool down.
7) Clean the removable plates and the appliance as described in the chapter
"Cleaning".
8) The appliance is now ready for use.
Operation
Baking times at a glance
You can find a basic dough suitable for each pair of removable plates in the
"Recipes" section. The table below serves as a guide giving approximate values
for the relevant baking times. If the waffle or doughnut is not to your personal
taste, adjust the baking time. If you use a dough with other ingredients, it may
be necessary to change the baking times as well.

Making patterned waffles
1) Select the "patterned waffles" removable plates and insert them. Always ensure
that you insert the top removable plate in the top half of the appliance and
the bottom removable plate in the bottom half. The removable plate with the
recessed moulds for filling the dough must be inserted at the bottom.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!

Never use two different removable plates at the same time.
2) Close the lid and lock it with the lid locking device 0.
3) Insert the plug into a mains power socket. The red "Power" control lamp w
lights up.
4) As soon as the appliance has heated up, the green "Ready" control
lamp q illuminates.
5) Undo the lid locking device 0, open the lid and put approximately 1/2 tsp.
of batter (see "Recipes" chapter for recipes for patterned waffles) into each
of the moulds of the bottom removable plates.
