3 SAFETY REGULATIONS

3.1
GENERAL INFORMATION
• Read these instructions carefully. Be thoroughly
familiar with all the controls and the proper use
of the machine.
• NEVER allow children or anyone who has
not read and understood the User Manual to
operate the machine. Local safety regulations
may impose age restrictions on machine use.
• NEVER use the machine if others (particularly
small children) or animals are in the near vicinity.
• Please remember that the operator is
responsible for any personal injury and/or
material damage.
• Exercise caution to avoid slipping and falling,
especially when operating the machine in
reverse.
• NEVER use the machine when under the
influence of alcohol or medication, nor when
tired or ill.
3.2
PREPARATION
• Inspect the area where the machine is to be
used and remove all foreign objects.
• Disengage all controls before starting the
engine.
• Do NOT operate the machine without wearing
adequate workwear. Wear safety footwear
which provides a good grip on slippery surfaces.
• Warning: petrol is highly flammable.
A. Always keep petrol in a suitable fuel
container.
B. Fill or top-up the fuel tank outdoors. NEVER
smoke during these operations.
C. Fill up with fuel before starting the engine.
Never remove the petrol cap or add fuel
when the engine is running or still hot.
D. Close the petrol cap securely and clean
away any spills.
• NEVER attempt to make any adjustments while
the is engine running (except when specifically
indicated in the instructions).
• Always allow the snow thrower to adjust to the
outside temperature before starting work.
• Always wear safety glasses or a face shield
during machine use or when performing
maintenance or repair work.

3.3
OPERATION
• Keep hands and feet away from rotating parts.
Stay clear of the discharge opening at all times.
• The snow thrower must not be used for
removing materials other than snow.
• Exercise extreme caution when operating on or
crossing gravel drives, roads or paths. Stay alert
for hidden hazards and traffic.
• Never direct the discharge towards public
roads, passers-by or vehicles. If the snow
thrower hits a foreign object, turn off the engine,
disconnect the spark plug wire and carefully
inspect the machine for any damage. Repair
any damage before restarting and using the
machine.
• If the machine starts to vibrate abnormally,
turn off the engine, disconnect the spark plug
wire and find the cause. Vibration is generally a
warning of a malfunction.
• ALWAYS turn off the engine and disconnect the
spark plug wire:
• A. before leaving the operating position.
• B. if the auger or chute are clogged and need
clearing.
• C. before carrying out any repairs or
adjustments.
• Before carrying out any cleaning, repair or
inspection work on the machine, make sure all
moving parts have stopped and the controls are
disengaged.
• Before leaving the machine, disengage all the
controls and remove the ignition key.
• Do not run the engine indoors. Exhaust fumes
are toxic.
• Avoid using the machine across slopes. Always
travel straight up and down slopes. Exercise
caution when changing direction on a slope.
Avoid steep slopes.
• Never operate the machine without proper
guards or if the safety devices are not in place
and working .
• Do not attempt to defeat or tamper with the
safety systems.
• Do not alter engine tuning or force it to turn too
quickly. If the engine turns too quickly, the risk
of personal injury increases.
• Never use the snow thrower near fencing,
cars, windows, slopes, etc. without having first
suitably adjusted the discharge chute deflector.
