OPERATION
1. Adjust the discharge chute deflector.
2. Start the engine as already described. Leave
the engine running for a few minutes to warm
up.
3. Adjust the direction of the chute so that the
snow (if possible) is thrown in the same
direction as the wind.
4. Activate the auger by pressing the clutch lever
up against the handle.
Take extreme care when the auger is
rotating. KEEP hands, feet, hair and
loose clothing well away from the ma-
chine's moving parts.
5. Push the snow thrower forward to clear the
snow.
6.8
RECOMMENDATIONS
The exhaust pipe and adjacent parts
get extremely hot when the engi-
ne is running.
Burns hazard.
1. Always stick to a speed which is suitable for the
operating conditions and the amount of snow to
be cleared.
2. Snow is easier to clear when it is fresh.
3. If possible, throw the snow in the same direction
as the wind.
4. Adjust the speed to keep the flow of thrown
snow constant.
If snow gets clogged in the dischar-
ge chute do not attempt to remo-
ve it before you have:
- released the auger clutch lever.
- turned off the engine.
- removed the ignition key.
- disconnected the spark plug wire
from the spark plug.
NEVER put your hands inside the chu-
te or near the auger.

OIL CHANGE
Change the oil after the first 5 service hours and
every 20 hours thereafter, or at least once per
season. The oil must be changed when the engine
is warm.
The engine oil may be very hot if drai-
ned straight after turning off the engi-
ne. Consequently allow the engine to
cool down for a few minutes before
draining off the oil.
1. Position the snow thrower on even ground.
2. Place a suitable container under the oil drain
plug.
3. Unscrew the oil drain plug.
4. Tilt the snow thrower in the direction of the
handle. Grasp the handle and press down to tilt
the snow thrower until the oil drain plug is at the
lowest point of the engine, allowing spent oil to
drain off completely.
5. Allow the oil to flow out into the container.
6. Once all the oil has drained off, return the snow
thrower to an upright position.
7. Screw the oil drain plug back in.
8. Clean away any oil spills.
9. Fill with fresh oil. For the type of oil to be used
(see Heading. 2.2).
10. Check the oil level. (See Heading 6.2).
