INSTALLING THE DISCHARGE CHUTE
ADJUSTMENT HANDLE (FIG. 4)
1. The handle (4:A) is supplied with the nut (4:B),
washers and cotter pin (4:C and D) assembled
on the same.
2. Install the handle as shown in the figure, taking
care to insert the handle gear in one of the
grooves (4:F) on the chute fixing ring.
3. Once in position, the bottom end of the handle
must be inserted in the support (4:G).
4. Position the second washer (4:D) on the handle
pin then thread the cotter pin through the hole,
opening the ends just enough to make sure it
cannot slip out. The end result should be as
illustrated in (fig. 4:H).
5. Tighten the nut (4:B).
6. Move the handle to check it has been installed
correctly and works properly.
5 CONTROLS
The exhaust pipe is fitted with a safety
casing (1:F). Start the engine only if
the safety casing is correctly installed
and in tact.
5.1
IGNITION KEY (1:G)
The key starts or stops the engine. The ignition key
has two positions:
Key out - OFF - the engine stops and can-
not be started.
Key in - ON - the engine can be started
and the machine operated.
5.2
START-UP HANDLE (1:H)
Manual starter rope.
5.3
CLUTCH LEVER - AUGER (1:K)
The auger starts to rotate when the lever
is pressed up against the handle.
5.4
PRIMER (1:L)
Press the rubber primer bulb to inject
fuel into the carburettor intake mani-
fold to facilitate start-up when the en-
gine is cold.
5.5
CHOKE (1:M)
This helps to start a cold engine. The choke has
two positions:
Right - the choke is closed (for cold wea-
ther start-up).

Left - the choke is open (normal operating
conditions).

FUEL CAP (1:N)
For filling the tank with fuel.

OIL CAP (1:P)
F or topping up the engine oil and che-
cking the level.
5.8
DEFLECTOR (1:B1)
Adjust the deflector to alter the flow of the thrown
snow. To adjust deflector opening:
1. Slacken the knob (1:B2).
2. Set the deflector in the required position.
3. Tighten the knob (1:B2).
Adjustments:
Pointing down - shorter throw distance
Pointing up - longer throw distance

DISCHARGE CHUTE (1:B)
The direction in which snow is thrown depends
on the position of the discharge chute. Use the
adjustment handle (1:D) to direct the chute as
required.
5.10 OIL DRAIN PLUG (1:Q)
To drain off spent engine oil before an oil change.
5.11 SPARK PLUG
For greater safety, disconnected the spark plug
wire from the spark plug. The spark plug is located
under the casing (1:F). To disconnect the spark
plug wire, proceed as follows:
1. Place the forefinger and middle finger of one
hand along the vertical end of the spark plug
boot (1:R).
2. With the thumb and forefinger, take hold of the
top of the boot.
3. Pull the boot up to remove it from the spark plug.
4. To reconnect the spark plug, position the boot
on the spark plug and push it down.

Do not start the engine without first having
completed all the steps described in Heading 4.
