it is showing visible damage, the machine
too might have been affected. If so, unpack
the machine in the presence of the carrier
and sign the delivery note under reservation.
The manufacturer disclaims liability for any
damage arising from transportation or
improper storage.
Unpack the appliance with the utmost care
to avoid damage. To remove the pallet,
disassemble the two doors on the sides of the
machine using the key supplied, and unscrew
the pallet from the sides of the machine.
When the machine is in its service position,
remove both blocks on the facing, which
house the ringbolts screwed onto the sides, and
install the side-fastening screws supplied (fig.3,
page 87). Then place the attached caps to
mask off the holes. Keep the parts removed in
a dry place to enable any future machine
handling.
Make sure that the instruction booklet is not
left inside the package or lost. The packaging
material (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene,
timber, cardboard, nails, etc.) represent a
safety hazard and consequently must not be
left within the reach of children. Collect and
keep for further transportation or long-term
storage (see par. 4.2).
Before connecting up the appliance, check
that the rating plate details correspond to
those of the existing electric system.
The equipment must only be used for the
aim it was purposely designed for.
4.4 INSTALLING THE LINEN TRAYS
(figures 4-5 page 87-88)
When unpacked, the machine is devoid of
the two linen feeding and collection trays,
which must be positioned on the side and
centre part of the ironer together with the
fastening supports and relevant screws.
To install the two trays, make sure the
machine is not connected to the power mains
and proceed as follows: open the side doors
of the ironer using the key (provided) and
screw up the two pairs of stirrups to the side
of the ironer using the holes provided. Once
fitted, the stirrups must be horizontal and
protrude from the machine. Make sure such
protrusion exists right up until the tray
assembly operation has been completed.
Subsequently, delicately place the linen
collection tray (the wider of the two trays) on
the two lower supports, being careful to also
place the tray on the ironer longitudinal
supporting member. Now proceed to tighten
screws C after adjusting the depth of the tray.
In the same way, place the feeding tray on
the upper supports and proceed to fasten the
tray using both screws A on the side and
screws B on the supports.
5. GETTING THE APPLIANCE
STARTED
5.1 POSITIONING REQUIREMENTS
Apart from a flat floor, these ironers require
no particular positioning needs. Being front-
loading type, they can be placed with the
back against a wall. (§ 5.2).
Ensure that the floor on which the machine
is going to be installed can bear the weight
of the ironer: to this respect, check the
machine's technical details.
To the end of ensuring utmost machine
stability, and consequently the best safety
conditions at work, level the machine carefully
using the 6 adjustable feet on the sides.
The appliance may only be installed in an
environment that meets the necessary
ventilation requirements.
5.2 SPACE REQUIRED FOR
INSTALLATION, USE AND
MAINTENANCE
The ironer requires the minimum space
indicated on the installation diagram
attached, which highlights:
1) Thermomagnetic automatic switch on
the wall (not included).
2) Sheath-fitted power supply cord to the
latest safety standards, not included.
The position of the automatic disconnection
switch must enable easy actuation in any
emergency (maximum distance 3 mt).
5.3 ALLOWABLE ROOM
CONDITIONS FOR PROPER
MACHINE SERVICE
(Let these conditions be known to machine
users)
- TYPE OF ROOM: CLOSED
- MINIMUM TEMPERATURE: 10°C
- MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE: 40°C
- RELATIVE HUMIDITY: 75% H.R.
- LIGHTING: 100 lux (valid for Italy; as
for other national provisions concerning
lighting in working premises, refer to the
relevant national standards).
5.4 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The appliance must be installed by qualified
personnel in compliance with the
instructions provided by the manufacturer
and with the local regulations. The
manufacturer disclaims whatever liability
for jobs carried out by unauthorised
personnel.
To correctly connect up the ironer, open the
door on the left flank and install a four-pole
cord of appropriate section (cfr. Table below)
and of length no greater than 3mts, onto the
main cutoff switch aboard the machine. The
cord must enter the side panel through the
ad-hoc slot by the main cutoff switch.
Then connect a plug of nominal power
suiting the ironer model at issue (cfr Table
below).
Ensure that the power voltage meets the
details on the ironer's rating plate,
considering that the maximum power voltage
variation allowed is ±10%
IMPORTANT:
CONNECTING THE MACHINE TO THE
EARTHING SYSTEM IS MANDATORY.
To this purpose, use the earthing terminal
on the electrical board, inside the side panel.
This must comply with the regulations in
force. The manufacturer assumes no
responsibility for damage resulting from
22
non-observance of this accident-prevention
principle.
In compliance with the latest accident-
prevention provisions, the machine is
provided with an external terminal for
equipotential connection.
On the power supply line upstream of the
appliance, it is necessary to install an
automatic multipolar disconnection switch
with contacts spacing no less than 3mm,
that must be calibrated following the
appliance's maximum rated input (cfr. rating
plate data and table below):

ATTENTION:
The machine is equipped with an inverter,
so that there is a power leak to earth of
10¸12 mA, which is due to the installation
of the noise filter. This detail must be
especially considered if various machines
are connected downstream of the
differential cutout.
It is advisable to install a a thermomagnetic
differential switch per machine. Choose
switch size considering that the noise
switch generates a current leak to earth
of 10¸12 mA.
The machine needs to be connected up to a
four-pole power cord (not supplied) suiting
the specific machine's required section,
which is to be connected to the automatic
circuit breaker on the wall (not included) by
means of an adequate plug.
The ironer is factory-tested following the
correct cyclic direction of the phase leads,
i.e. R-S-T (A1-A2-A3) (L1-L2-L3).
Changing the cyclic direction may prevent
correct performance and entail damage to
the appliance.
If cyclic direction is not complied with and
the machine is nonetheless switched on, the
machine will read alarm 7 (AL7) indicating
poor pressure in the hydraulic circuit. This
alarm reading appears because the hydraulic
pump that drives the press basin cannot
work properly when two supply phase leads
are inverted.
If this alarm appears, switch off and
disconnect the machine from the power
mains by the built in disconnection switch
and the master switch on the wall. Then
make sure that there are have been no leaks
in the hydraulic circuit.
If poor pressure in the circuit is really caused
by the inversion in the pump motor rotating
direction, invert two of the three power
supply phase leads, put all the panels possibly
removed back on place, restore all safety
conditions and only then energise the
equipment again.
IMPORTANT: TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL
PHASE LEAD INVERSION, INFORM
THE CLIENT, USER OR LAUNDRY/
