The outside appearance of the control panel
is similar to that shown in the following
illustration, which shows the main functions
of the various areas.
Description of buttons
The functions associated with the various
buttons are the following:
1) The I/O key switches the machine on and
off, whatever its condition, and places it in
low-consumption (standby) condition.
When the machine is powered from the
mains and this key is pressed, the main
display page appears. If the key is pressed
again, the machine switches off and the
switch-on message appears again on the
screen to indicate that the machine is ready
to be switched on again.
IMPORTANT: To completely switch off
the machine, always interrupt the power
supply by means of the disconnection switch
on board the machine and by means of the
master switch on the wall.

2) The key 2 without an icon permits resetting
any tripped alarms. Generally speaking,
alarms are shown on the display screen by
means of a specially dedicated window;
normal work conditions can be reset, after
determining and remedying the cause of the
alarm (e.g., operation of finger protection
strip), by pressing the key 2 in question.
The alarms generated by a serious
malfunction can only be reset by interrupting
power to the machine and eliminating the
cause of the malfunction.
3) The Key 3 quickly starts and stops machine
heating, whether this is on idle or during
ironing. This function is useful if, for
instance, you want to use the remaining heat
accumulated by the press basin to iron the
last items before stopping the machine.
Finally, this function is necessary to perform
the roller covering felt changing operation.
This must be performed cold. Heating can
be switched on afterwards.
This function does not feature on the steam
machine because the steam reaches the
machine directly from the connection point.
4) Key 4 permits starting ironing: when this
is pressed, the press basin is pressurised on
the roller up to the entered setting and, at the
same time, the roller turns at the selected
speed. If this key is pressed again, the ironing
operation stops and the press basin returns
to idle position. Machine extraction is started
and stopped automatically at the start and
finish of the ironing session respectively.
The 5 navigator keys are located at top right
inside the items on the display screen:

are generally speaking the most used: press
these to position directly on the
corresponding field without necessarily
having to scroll through the various menu
items.
Once 15 seconds have passed from the last
parameter change, the cursor automatically
positions on the speed field so as to be able
to quickly access the frequently used feed
speed.
5) The key 5 directly positions the cursor on
the temperature selection field, thus allowing
temperature setpoint change by pressing
ENTER, while key 6 directly positions the
cursor on the air-extraction icon, so as to
similarly change the extraction setting.
The two words SAVE and MENU, on the
bottom of the display screen, are the two
functions that make it possible to save the
settings displayed inside the program and
access the entire board menu structure to
perform
respectively.
To access these functions, the item must be
selected by means of the navigation keys
and the choice must be confirmed by pressing
ENTER.
Every 1000 hrs of operation, the board asks
for maintenance to be performed on certain
machine parts: when this request appears
on the main display screen in the form of a
stylised key in place of the word SAVE,
contact the after-sales service immediately.

Maintenance necessary
By selecting the key icon in the lower left-
hand corner, the type of required
maintenance will be displayed to aid the
technician as regards the sequence of jobs to
be performed on the machine (§8.3).

7.3 TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT

(models with electric heating)
The temperature can be adjusted by selecting
the temperature icon by means of the
navigator buttons. After setting the field
change/enter mode by means of the ENTER
key, the temperature can be adjusted and set
as required using the two
Every time the keys are pressed, the
temperature changes by 1°C. The desired
temperature setting can be quickly reached
by keeping the key pressed.
The range of temperatures that can be set is
between 0°C and 190°C.
To quickly select the temperature adjustment
field, press key 5, wherever you are inside
the display monitor.
To exit from enter mode (shown in reverse),
press the ENTER key again.
During operation, electrically heated and
gas-heated machines read the ironing press
temperature directly on the display.
When introducing the first items to be
ironed, the temperature could drop by
several degrees and then return back to
that set: this is absolutely normal as is the
continuous switching on and off of the
heating, necessary to obtain a constant
temperature reading.
During the first hours of operation, a smell
could be detected coming out of the press
basin guard slits. This is caused by the
change in condition of the insulating material
applied to the heating elements in order to
curb the heat inside the press basin. Such
smell is not at all harmful and will cease
after just a short while.

7.4 TEMPERATURE DISPLAY

(steam models)
In the case of the ironing machine models
featuring steam heating system, the press
basin temperature is produced only by the
pressure of the steam at machine entry,
which must necessarily be 12 bar to achieve
a temperature of around 165-175°C.
The temperature indicated on the display
screen is that actually read by the probe
during ironing and cannot be changed.
