Blackmagic Video Assist and Blackmagic Video Assist 4K
The toolbars, or status strips, on the other video assist models are very similar to the
Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR, with only a couple of minor differences.
The upper status strip features monitor overlays, format, codec, and trigger recording as well as
a timecode display and media and battery status indicators.
The lower status strip features a display histogram, transport controls and two channel audio
meters. On Blackmagic Video Assist you can remove both status strips from view by swiping
the screen up or down. On the 4K model, the upper status strip will remain in view at all times.
To access the tabbed menu settings, simply swipe the display left or right. The tabbed menu
provides access to storage, monitor, display, and setup options. The 4K model also includes an
audio tab to select your XLR audio inputs.
Some settings provide a slider you can adjust by dragging the setting left or right or up and
down. Other settings are adjusted by tapping left and right arrows to increase or decrease a
defined setting.
On 6G video assist models, the settings for each menu tab is displayed on a single page
