WARNING: To avoid the risk of damage to the valve and
the pressure sensor (if installed), only break the bead
with the valve and sensor at 90° to the bead breaker
pressure point (at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock).
Before proceeding with the bead breaking procedure,
it is essential to identify the type of tyre being worked
on (especially when working on RUN FLAT, LOW PROFILE
for UHP tyres).
USING THE STROKE LIMITER
If the bead breaking operation is difficult, the (optional) "stroke limiter"
may be used. This device improves the performance of the machine and
prevents damage to the tyre during bead breaking.
The device limits the "closure" of the bead breaker by different amounts
depending on the position of the pin (1, Fig. G2):
- setting "0" : no limitations
- settings 6"-7" ; 8 -9" ; 10"-11" : indicate the rim width for which the bead
breaker closure is set.
Check the width of the rim then place the pin in the correct hole: the stroke
limiter will allow the bead to be broken without letting the shovel penetrate
too far and crush the beads (see Fig. G3).

10.2 WHEEL CLAMPING

ATTENTION: Check to make sure there are no weights on the
rim.
N.B.: The rim can be clamped on the table top from the inside or the outside.
ATTENTION: In order to avoid marking the rim, alloy rims should be locked exclusively from the outside after having
mounted the specially-provided protection on the clamps.
WARNING!
When clamping a tyre, NEVER have your hands under the tyre.
To clamp the tyre correctly, position the wheel exactly at the centre of the table top (2, Fig. E).
Check to be certain that the wheel is correctly clamped by all four grippers.
RIM CLAMPED FROM THE OUTSIDE (wheels from 12-23")
1. Use the pedal (5, Fig. E) to open the 4 clamps (6, Fig. E), so that the tyre is sitting on the clamps themselves.
2. Keep the rim pressed downwards and press the pedal (5, Fig. E) fully to clamp the wheel.
N.B.: When working with UHP tyres or self-supporting run-flat tyres, it is always advisable to clamp from the outside of the rim even
with steel rims.
