By connecting the RED/BLUE cable, two programming procedures can be run:
A) SET-UP
The SET-UP mode involves a signifi cant reduction in performance.
WARNING: It is recommended to use this mode only when false alerts caused by slightly uneven surfaces
and slight roughness of the ground cannot be eliminated by adjusting the sensitivity trimmer.
Programming:
1) Disconnect the control unit
2) Firmly connect the RED/BLUE cable and the RED cable (key positive) to each other.
3) Reactivate the control unit (SET-UP already active).
4) Perform the check tests.
B) TOW-BAR (see Fig.48) This procedure is required in case protruding parts are detected on the bum-
per (e.g. a tow bar).
WARNING: Perform the programming procedure on smooth bottoms. It is essential that during the
self-learning step the area behind the bumper is completely free of obstacles for at least 1 m from the
sensors, otherwise programming may be distorted. Make sure that during programming there are no
other active systems or compressed air guns being used in the surrounding area.
MASKING MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE MOTOR RUNNING
Programming:
1) Disconnect the control unit.
2) Connect the RED/BLUE cable to the BLACK cable (mass).
Please note: If set-up was previously performed, temporarily disconnect the RED/BLUE cable from the
RED cable and proceed as described in step 2.
3) Make sure that the area behind is completely free of any obstacle for at least 1 m from each sensor.
4) Turn on the control unit by engaging reverse gear:
• The control unit generates a high-pitched beep when programming is started.
• After a maximum time of about 120 sec. the control unit generates 2 HIGH-PITHED BEEPS if pro-
gramming is successful or 4 HIGH-PITHED BEEPS if programming has failed.
5) Disconnect the RED/BLUE cable from the BLACK cable.
Please note: If set-up was previously performed, permanently reconnect the RED/BLUE cable to the RED
cable (key positive).
6) Engage reverse gear and then make sure that no abnormal beeps are generated in the absence of
obstacles; if programming is incorrect, repeat the operation (see "TOW BAR Reset").
Please note: once programming has taken place, the control unit automatically adds 15 cm. steady
sound with respect to the last masked distance.
TOW BAR Reset (procedure to be performed to remove the Tow Bar masking previously stored by the
control unit).
1.7) Turn off the control unit.
1.8) Connect the RED/BLUE cable to the BLACK cable (mass).
Please note: If set-up was previously performed, temporarily disconnect the RED/BLUE cable from the
RED cable and proceed as described in step.
1.9) Turn on the control unit by engaging reverse gear:
• The control unit generates a high-pitched beep when programming is started
• After a high-pitched beep is generated, disconnect the RED/BLUE cable and the black cable and wait
for 3 high-pitched beeps to be generated.
Please note: If SET-UP was previously performed, permanently reconnect the RED/BLUE cable to the RED
cable.
1.10) Reactivate the control unit and perform the check.
1.11) If necessary, repeat the TOW BAR programming operations.
