4.4 PREPARATIONS FOR SOWING
To obtain the most correct investment of the seeds per hectare (kg/Ha) the distribution parts must be adjusted properly: the gear-box,
the feelers, rollers and sliding doors. Use the sowing table to fi nd the relevant instructions (refer to the sowing test chapter 4.10.5). To
proceed, the values to follow are: the type of seed (wheat, barley, etc.), the amount in kg to be distributed per hectare.
It is worth pointing out that values in the tables are indicative: for the same type of seeds there may be differences in distri-
bution according to the specifi c weight, the moisture content, the seed quantity and size and the type of soil.
Example: PEAS
- Completely open the blades, position "2";
- Use the large distribution wheel;
- Position the feeler pin lever in position "5" on
the gauge;
- Disengage the stirring shaft in the hopper.
It is very important to read the manual before
doing a calibration test. The chart values are
only approximate, since the specifi c weight
and the size of the granules often differ. It is,
therefore recommended that a rotation test be
performed. The amount measured with that
test is then constantly output.
4.4.1 BLADE ADJUSTMENT
A
The sliding doors (L, Fig. 23) for the discharging of the seeds from
the hopper, have three adjustment positions (Fig. 21):
1) Position 0: when the blade is completely lowered it closes the
seed discharge slot completely and shuts out the distributor
roller to which seeds no longer fl ow.
2) Position 1: by raising the sliding doors to the fi rst setting,
the medium aperture position indicated in the enclosed table
forsmall seeds is obtained because the discharge slot comes
to be only partially opened.
3) Position 2: this is the position of maximum aperture that is
indicated for medium and large-sized seeds.
