3.3 Second stage and Octopus
The second stage is connected to one of the 3/8" first stage low pressure outlets via a LP (low
pressure) hose.
The octopus hose is a suitable length (1 metre) to facilitate use under emergency conditions.
DANGER: For safety reasons, it is not recommended to use an octopus other than
a TRIBORD brand octopus certified according to standard EN 250:2014 appendix B.

4 - PREPARATION FOR USE

Before assembling your equipment, make sure that all components meet current
standards.
During transport, the regulator should not be in contact with the weight belt or other heavy or
sharp objects.
Follow these steps only if you have the proper tools and if you are familiar with these techniques.
Enlist the help of a qualified technician if necessary.
Tools required:
• 4 mm hex key,
• 14 mm spanner,
• Small flat-head screwdriver,
• Small brush + clean cloth.
To assemble the regulator on the valve, it is recommended that you proceed as follows:
Î Make sure the first and second stages have no signs of damage.
Î Make sure all hoses are properly connected to the first stage and have no cuts or other
signs of wear or damage.
Î Check the tank pressure with the pressure gauge.
Î If you can manually unscrew the hoses, you must tighten it with a spanner (14 mm spanner)
before pressurising it.
Î Position the tank valve so that the opening is facing you.
Make sure the O-rings (valves, DIN connector or bracket) are in perfect condition,
and do not have even minor damage, such as small cuts or porosity.
Î On the 1st stage, remove the microporous filter's black protective cap and check its
cleanliness.
Î Place the first stage on the tank's valve and lock it.
Î It is recommended that you position the balanced piston head down, so that it doesn't
protrude from tank's valve, to protect it from shocks.
