The control has then the responsibility to allow only travel instructions allowing to leave the inspection
limit switch. If such a travel is requested by the control, the PSU01 sends the corresponding instruction
(see parameterizing manual). The safety circuit closes again when the elevator stands still and upon
request by the control, as long as the elevator is in the hysteresis zone.
A „real" leaving of the hysteresis zone or switching off the inspection mode re-activates this zone.
A repeated entering in this zone triggers the same process again (see above).
7.1.3 UCM detection
The UCM detection of the PSU01 is enabled as soon as the elevator car stops in a door zone.
The PSU01 detects a UCM event in the following conditions:
• the car level control speed exceeds 0.3 m/s
• the elevator leaves the door zone with bypassed doors (e.g. due to a control fault)
External UCM units can be connected in "parallel". The redundant door zone relays (port X6) constan-
tly emit door zone information (comparable with fixed magnetic switches) to provide the information to
an external UCM unit (plants working e.g. by engaging).

Overrunning the max. hysteresis zone of the inspection limit switch
(see figure above) always leads to the opening of the safety circuit,
which is no longer bypassed on request by the PSU01.
When an inspection limit switch is actuated, recovery (bypassing) is
forbidden and must be prevented by the circuitry.
A detected UCM event permanently opens the safety circuit. A braking
device compliant with EN81-20, 5.6.7 (redundant/diagnostic certified as
a drive brake) is a prerequisite for this.
If a UCM lock is active, recovery by the control is forbidden.
Caution, since the UCM detection is permanently active in the PSU01,
in the case of an UCM event, the PSU01 will also trip, and not only the
external unit. Therefore both devices must be reset.
The redundant door zone relays (port X6) are exclusively intended
for an optional external UCM unit and may not be used for any other
elevator safety function.
