1. Reset the deficit and inflow volume display to 0 by pressing the reset key.
2. Empty measuring beaker.
3. Press the Start/Stop key to start the pump and stop at 1 min.
4. Press the Start/Stop key once this time has passed. The device has to have
transported approx. 200 ml of fluid and this value has to be depicted in the
volume display. The graduated beaker has to contain approx. 200 ml (±10 %)
of fluid.
The basic function test has been successfully completed once these values have
been reached.

10.3 Pressure Measuring Test

The layout and setup of the test is depicted in Fig. 10-2.
The pressure test checks the pressure chamber, the pressure sensors, and the
pressure measuring to ensure all elements are functioning properly. This test
requires the complete tube set and a container filled with water. The height of
the water column (hydrostatic pressure) is used for measuring and converted to
mm mercury column (mm Hg). The height of the water column above the
pressure chamber has to match the value of the actual pressure display after
conversion.
Conversion formula: p (cm H2O) x 0,74 = p (mm Hg)
1. Place irrigation tube in a container filled with water.
2. Fill tube set completely with water by starting the pump. Press the Start/Stop
key to stop the roller wheel. The actual pressure indicator of the device
displays 0 mm Hg.
3. Close the end of the instrument tube (use finger).
4. Hold the water level of the patient tube end (h) 44 cm above the pressure
chamber. The water column amounts to 44 cm above the pressure chamber
(44 cm H2O x 0.74 = approx. 33 mm Hg).
5. Release the patient tube end.
6. The actual pressure display has to depict 33 mm Hg (±2 mm Hg).
7. Change the water column height. The value of the actual pressure display has
to change accordingly.
The test of the pressure measurement is successfully completed when the values
of the actual pressure display correspond to those of the water column height.
