3. WARNINGS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS

Please read this manual thoroughly before starting to use your Riester ri-medic. Only those clinicians trained to measure, re-
cord and interpret vital signs should use this device.
There is a danger of life-threatening electrical shock
For electrically isolating the device from supply mains pull the plug from
the socket outlet.
Unplug the instrument before cleaning!
At the proposed ri-medic location the power plug must be accessible.
Do not use this device on pediatric patients under 3 years old, infants, or
neonates.
The Riester ri-medic must be charged before using it for the first time.
For accurate blood pressure measurements, ensure that the
circumference of the arm fits within the range markings on the cuff.
The Riester ri-medic is not intended for continuous monitoring. The
blood pressure cuff and the cable is defibrillator proof. Do not leave the
device unattended while taking measurements on a patient.
Only use such accessories as are recommended for use with this device.
Do not operate the Riester ri-medic near flammable anesthetics or
volatile vapors. An explosion may result.
