2. PROPER USE / INDICATIONS FOR USE
The Riester ri-medic NIBP device is indicated for use in measuring and displaying Systolic and Diastolic blood pressures and
pulse rate of adults and children aged three and older in hospitals, medical facilities, clinics, physicians offices, and other
sub-acute environments.
Functions Performed – The ri-medic measures systolic and diastolic blood pressures and heart rate.
Intended Use The ri-medic was designed to be a vital signs spot check device to be used in a medical clinic or the hospital.
Intended Patient population The device is intended for adults and children aged three and older.
Intended Operator The device will be operated by a physician, nurse or technician in a medical clinic or hospital.
Required skill/training of operator - The operator is required to have some basic knowledge of the measurement of vital signs.
All hook-ups and connections are clearly explained in the manual.
Environment of Use - The device is intended to be used indoors in a controlled environment. There are no circumstances in which
the monitor may need to be used in a harsh environmental condition.

2.1 USER RESPONSIBILITY

Your Riester ri-medic product is designed to perform in conformity with the description contained in this operation manual and
accompanying labels and inserts, when assembled, operated, maintained and repaired in accordance with the instructions provi-
ded. It is your responsibility to:
Check calibration of the device every two years.
Never knowingly use a defective device.
Immediately replace parts that are broken, worn, missing, incomplete, damaged or contaminated.
Contact the nearest factory approved service center should repair or replacement become necessary.
Further, the user of the device bears sole responsibility for any malfunction that results from improper use, faulty maintenance,
improper repair, damage or alteration by anyone other than Riester or authorized service personnel.
