6.4.3 Control of voltage and frequency
Control that the voltage and frequency levels required by
the generating set correspond to the generator data plate.
The generator leaves the production line
with a star connection (unless otherwise
!
specifi ed on order) which is used as

reference for its nominal data.
All changes in connection must be carried
out solely by a qualifi ed specialist.

electrical con tacts are left bare, it is important that
this operation be carried out solely by qualifi ed

The regulator AVR DBL1 uses a microprocessor for
adjustment of generators 50/60 Hz brushless. The voltage
regulation is done by controlling the current in the stator
exciter

•
Automatic adjustment of the voltage.
•
EMI fi lter.
•
(Protection by fuse (on the bottom of the regulator includes
a spare fuse).
•
Protection against overvoltage.
•
Setting jumpers through the reference voltage (single
phase and three phase voltage range).
•
Setting the excitation type (standard or PMG).
•
Set jumper through the remote control of voltage
•
Using a software called AVRTerm to confi gure the controller,

Adjusting the underfrequency
A frequency control progressively deactivates the machine
when the drive motor speed drops below a pre-set,
adjustable threshold preventing over-excitement at low
operating speeds and abating the load engage effects on
the motor.
With jumper J1 inserted, the regulator is set at the threshold
of 47 Hz and when the jumper J1 is removed by using the
solution at 60Hz the threshold for action is set to 57Hz (to
change the regulation of underspeed is necessary to use
Software AVRTerm).
Limit excitation
The limit of excitation is adjustable from 0 to 100% in increments
of 0.1%. When the excitation exceeds its limit, the controller is
in alarm condition (alarm is visible with the software AVRTerm).
