Preparation for testing

5.1 Preparing the EPS 815 / EPS 708

For a test, the CP4 supplementary equipment set
must be set up and made ready on the EPS 708 or
EPS 815.
5.1.1 Installing the drive coupling for VDO-CP with
cone shaft connection
EPS 815

All clamping parts and couplings required for
clamping are listed in the special accessories catalog
for EFEP / EPS (order number 1 689 980 289).

1. Fasten the intermediate flange (Fig. 15, item 3) to
the flywheel. Tightening torque:
$
M10 = 53 – 57 Nm
$
M12 = 93 – 97 Nm
Warning – danger of entanglement!
Parts of the body or items of clothing could
become trapped in rotating or moving parts
when the drive motor is in operation.

Fit the protective hood at a distance of
<3 cm from the flywheel.
2. Slide the protective hood (Fig. 15, item 1) over the
intermediate flange and attach it to the EPS 815
clamping rail.
3. Attach the drive coupling (Fig. 15, item 4) with the
centering piece to the intermediate flange.
Tightening torque: 93 – 97 Nm

The centering piece is included in the scope of
delivery of the intermediate flange 1 685 700 140.
4. Slide the touch guard (fig. 1, item 2) over the drive
coupling and onto the protective hood.

Secure the drive coupling (Fig. 16, item 2) to the
flywheel (Fig. 16, item 1) of the EPS 708. Tightening
torque: 90 – 100 Nm.
