5. Fasten the intermediate flange (Fig. 22, item 1)
on the drive shaft (Fig. 22, item 2) of the VDO-CP.
Observe the tightening torque. (see table).

6. Connect the intermediate flange (Fig. 23, item 2) of
the VDO-CP to the intermediate coupling (Fig. 23,
item 2) and secure with the two fastening screws.
Tightening torque: 33 – 37 Nm
7. Secure the clamping bracket or clamping support to
the clamping rail of the EPS using the two fastening
screws (Fig. 23, item 3).

8. On an EPS 815, slide the touch guard (see Fig. 15,
item 2) over the drive coupling and secure.
9. Turn flywheel of the EPS 815 by hand and ensure
that grinding noises do not occur between the touch
Tightening
guard (Fig. 15, item 2) and intermediate flange (see
torque
Fig. 15, item 3). If grinding noises occur, correct the
40 Nm
fit of the touch guard.

5.3.2
1. Slide the clamping bracket (optional accessory)
onto the clamping rail of the EPS.
!
The radial shaft seal must be oiled to test the VDO-
CP.
2. Lubricate the radial shaft seal on a VDO-CP with
15W-40 motor oil.
3. Secure the VDO-CP to the clamping flange (see the
section 3.5.1).
4. Secure the VDO-CP to the clamping bracket (Fig. 24).
Observe the tightening torque.
