6) Apply grease to the friction spring and inside of the ratchet
cover.
7) Install the friction spring and ratchet cover.
8) Apply Loctite ® to the thread of the cover bolt. Tighten the
cover bolt securely.
9) Turn the reel three full turns counterclockwise to preload
the return spring.
10) Pass the rope through the starter case hole and tie the rope
as shown.
11) Check the operation of the ratchet by pulling the starter
rope out several times.
