PUTTING THE MACHINE INTO SERVICE
1) Check that the machine has not been damaged in transit.
2) Fill with grease the machine PTO flanging all around the coupling (fig. 2 no. 7).
3) Select driving handlebar position according to the use, Walking tractor or Motormower, by using the two levers
(fig. 2 no. 2 and fig. 3 no. 11).
4) Mount wheels and implement (e.g. rotary tiller, plough etc.) and tighten the securing nuts completely.
5) Add engine oil, please refer to attached instruction booklet.
6) Check gearbox oil (fig. 4), use only MP 80W 90 oil, or international equivalent API GL5 oil, US MIL-L-2105D,
quantity 2,8 litres.
7) Add oil into the air filter (for diesel version provided with this type of filter) use the same oil type as the engine
oil (fig. 5).
8) Insert the control levers (fig. 2 and fig. 3) for the walking tractor version, the levers are supplied with the
standard model. The Motormower version has different control levers (fig. 3/B) to be ordered with frontal
implements and attachments.
9) Verify the tyre pressure according to the table provided.
10) In the electric starting versions verify the battery voltage, it must not be lower than 12V, when required charge
the battery.
When the battery has been supplied dry with the acid separate, to put the battery into service it is necessary:
a) to add acid into the battery and wait 2 hours;
b) to charge the battery with a battery recharger set at 12V on slow charge for 2 hours. Warning, failure to follow
this rule may cause deterioration of the battery and acid leaks during the operation.
IMPORTANT! During assembly take care not to get the polarity of the battery reversed.
11) Check the clutch wire has a 3/5 mm clearance between the regulator and the lever.
12) Fill the tank with fuel using a funnel provided with a fine filter.
13) Check liquid levels when the machine is horizontal.
TO START THE ENGINE
1) Push the throttle lever to the halfway position. Press the dead-man handle (fig. 6).
2) For petrol engines open the gasoline tap and close the carburetor choke.
3) For Diesel engines move the supplementary Diesel oil lever as shown in the engine instructions booklet
4) Press the decompressor lever (see engine booklet). Start the engine by pulling the pull starter handle hard (fig. 7).
5) Once the engine is started (for petrol engines open the starter again), move the throttle lever gradually to the
minimum setting. Let the engine warm up for some time before starting work and do not strain the machine too
much during the first 50 working hours, in order to facilitate a good running-in. For engines supplied with electric
starter follow the above directions up to point 3; then plug the key in the dashboard, and turn it for a few moments
until the engine has started.
TO START WORK
Engage the clutch lever no 1 (fig. 2) and insert the desired gear by moving the lever no 13 (fig. 3); also choose fast
or slow speeds by moving the lever no 3 (fig. 2). In case the gear does not insert immediately work the clutch lever
slightly until the machine starts moving.
If the machine does not move, check that wheels lock release no 19 (fig. 3) is turned forward.
Please note that on the wheel tractors it is impossible to engage reverse speed and rotary hoe simultaneously
mowing due to a safety device.
The P.T.O. must be disengaged before locating reverse gear.
END OF WORK
After finishing work, to stop the engine, set the gearbox and PTO in idle and release the dead-man safety lever.
If the machine is fitted with electric starting, also remove the ignition key.
