4.4.2. Refrigerant circuit hook-up

EN
The recommended diameters are valid up to the maximum length of 10 m. For greater lengths size
the diameters in order to obtain correct gas flow velocity, or consult the manufacturer's technical
assistance service.
As a general rule, pipelines should be kept as short as possible. When necessary, either to reduce
pressure drops or the overall volume of refrigerant and hence refrigerant quantities.
The pipes must be fixed to the walls when the follow bends, at the points where they are welded,
and every 1.5 / 2 metres.
The suction connection at the evaporator outlet must have a short horizontal section followed by a
siphon.

4.4.3. Suction pipes

With evaporation temperature below -10°C the suction lines must be insulated with anti-condensate
tubing of at least 13 mm in thickness, to limit superheating. Size the suction pipes in such a way as to
guarantee the correct fluid velocity.
All the systems must be designed in such a way as to assure the oil returns to the compressor in all
cases.
In the situation with the condensing unit installed above the evaporator, it is essential to provide
siphons on the suction line for every 2 m level difference to guarantee oil return to the compressor
(see following figure).
