4.4 Testing electrical safety
Note:
Test electrical safety with the line voltage and frequency stated on the manufacturer's
identification plate.
Warning: Do not touch the device during testing!
Note:
Make sure that the relay contacts for the output sockets are closed for testing the leakage
currents.
To close the relay contacts, proceed as follows:
– Connect the power cord to the device.
– Turn the device on.
– Press the arrow button in the upper right-hand corner of the Procedure Overview screen
– Press the "Service Programs: Select Option" button in the "Service Programs" menu.
– Enter the service password. The password when the device leaves the manufacturers is "Tuttlingen".
– Use the acknowledgement button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to confirm the
password.
– Press the "Output relays on / off" button.
The closed relays are acknowledged by a green dot on the button.
Note:
When a test device is used for electrical safety, power is supplied to the device from the test
device. When selecting the program for the measurements you should make sure that the test
device enters a wait state after it has switched on the HF generator in order that the steps
listed above can be carried out.
The test device may feature an automatic or semi-automatic mode which only starts after
additional acknowledgement by the test program.
