17. Disposal

This product or parts of it must be disposed of in an
environmentally sound way:
1. Use the public or private waste collection service.
2. If this is not possible, contact the nearest
Grundfos company or service workshop.

Inlet pressure too low, i.e. pump
cavitates.
Air in inlet pipe or pump.
Counter-pressure lower than
specified.
Pump draws in air due to low liquid
level.
Impeller out of balance or clogged
impeller blades.
Inner parts worn.
Pump stressed by pipes thus
causing starting noise.
Defective bearings.
Defective motor fan.
Foreign bodies in pump.
Frequency converter operation.
Pump stressed by pipes thus
causing leaks in pump housing or at
connections.
Pump housing gaskets and gaskets

Mechanical shaft seal dirty or stuck

Bearings lubricated with too little,

Remedy
Increase the liquid level on the inlet side.
Open the isolating valve in the inlet pipe.
Make sure that all the conditions in section
8.5 Pipework
are complied with.
Vent the inlet pipe or the pump.
Set the duty point in accordance with the
data sheet.
Increase the liquid level on the inlet side and
keep it as constant as possible.
Clean and check the impeller.
Replace the defective parts.
Mount the pump so that it is not stressed.
Support the pipes.
Replace the bearings.
Replace the fan.
Clean the pump.

Replenish, reduce or replace the lubricant.
Check the relief holes of the impeller and the
lock rings on the inlet side.
Check the setting of the motor-protective
circuit breaker and replace, if necessary.
Reduce the flow rate.
