observance of the time-limit for reporting defects and returning products.
PRECONDITIONS FOR OBTAINING THE 24-MONTH COVER UNDER
THE WARRANTY
a. Maintenance programme:
In order for the maintenance programme to be carried out, the whole
RK3/RK XC/SBL3 must be sent in the original packaging.
The RK3/RK XC/SBL3 should be packed in the original packaging in
order to guarantee safe transport. The RK3/RK XC/SBL3 will be sent to
Össur by the customer at the latter´s risk and Össur therefore
recommends that appropriate transport insurance coverage is applied
(for loss or damage of the product) by the customer. Össur will,
however, bear the costs of transport back to the customer.
b. Loaner Unit
At the request of the customer and subject to availability, Össur will
place a loaner unit at the disposal of the customer, free of charge, for
the duration of an under-warranty service. The loaner unit must be
returned to Össur not later than 7 days after the serviced unit has
been returned. Össur reserves the right to charge a daily fee for each
day past the return date. Össur reserves the right to charge the full
price of the loaner if it is not returned within three weeks from the
return date. Upon return of the serviced RK3/RK XC/SBL3, Össur will
remind the customer of the obligation to return the loaner unit within
the stipulated period of time and also point out that a failure to return
the loaner unit within the stipulated period of time will be construed
as a statement accepting a purchase contract relating to the loaner
Unit, unless Össur receives an explicit statement to the contrary from
the customer, prior to expiry of the time-limit.
ÖSSUR CONTACT
Any complaints and returned products under the terms of this limited
manufacturer's warranty must be made/sent to Össur Customer Service.

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

The following cases are – at the discretion of Össur – excluded from this
limited manufacturer's warranty:
a. Excluded from the warranty are software components, cables and
plugs generally included in the product package, as well as test and
sample products.
b. A warranty coverage will not be effective in the event of a defect
caused to the RK3/RK XC/SBL3 through:
1. A failure to use the RK3/RK XC/SBL3 according to the instructions,
improper use or abuse of the RK3/RK XC/SBL3.
2. Improper physical force applied to the RK3/RK XC/SBL3 (e.g.
scratches, cracks, fractures, etc.).
3. An accident or neglect of ordinary care (such as dropping the joint
on a hard surface).
4. The use or connection of additional parts and/or accessories not
distributed or recommended by Össur, such as batteries, PDAs,
chargers, software, etc.to RK3/RK XC/SBL3.
a. The warranty expires:
1. In the event that inspections, adjustments, installations,
