INSTALLATION.

This equipment must be used solely for welding opera-
tions.
It is essential to pay especially close attention to the chap-
ter on SAFETY PRECAUTIONS in this Instruction Man-
ual, par. 1.
The equipment must be installed by qualified personnel.
All connections must be carried out in compliance with
current standards and in full observance of current safety
laws.
3.1

Placement.

The combined weight of Power Source and Cooling Unit
is approximately 100 Kg, thus when lifting following the
instructions shown in fig. 3.
Position the Power Source in an area that ensures good sta-
bility and efficient ventilation so as to prevent metal dust
from entering.

3.2

Power Source installation.

If present, place the Robot Interface (25) inside the Robot
Control Cabinet (5), following the instructions provided in
the Robot Interface Instruction Manual.
− with Robot Interface, connect the Power Source (21)
to the Robot Interface (25) using the signal cable (3)
and the CANopen cable (4) (the latter is included in the
Robot Interface);
− without Robot Interface, connect the Power Source
(21) directly to Robot Control using the signals cable
(3) and the CANopen (4) cable (the latter must be re-
quested separately to Cebora).
If present, connect the Wire Feeder (8) to the Power Source
(21), connector CN1, by means of the extension (2).
Connect the power cable of the TIG Torch to the BA
terminal of the Power Source and the eventual torch
signals cable to the external commands BC connector of
the Power Source.

Fig. 3
Connect the ground cable of the welding system to the BB
terminal of the Power source.
Mount the plug on the power cord, being especially
carefully to connect the yellow/green conductor to the
earth pole.
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds to the rated
voltage of the Power Source.
Size the protective fuses based on the data listed on the
technical specifications plate of the Power Source.
Complete the remaining connections of the Welding Sys-
tem other equipments, consulting the relative Instruction
Manuals in par. "Installation".
3.3

Preparing CAN-1 and CAN-2 lines.

The CAN-1 and CAN-2 lines must be configured according
to the plant design.
Normally this is done from the factory and is left to the
installer only the Power Source SW1 and SW2 setting,
related to the termination line resistors insertion.
For more information, see par. 11.2, Advanced settings,
CAN bus lines.
3.3.1
CAN-1 on Power Source.
SW1 = OFF, resistors not inserted, in case of systems
with equipments (Feeder Unit, Plasma Console,
etc.). connected to CN1 (CN1 busy);
SW1 = ON, resistors inserted, in case of systems with no
equipments connected to CN1 (CN1 free).
3.3.2
CAN-2 on Power Source.
SW2 = OFF, resistors not inserted, in case of Power
Source not connected to the Robot Interface or Ro-
bot Control (CN2 free);
SW2 = ON, resistor inserted, in case of Power Source
connected to the Robot Interface or Robot Control
(CN2 busy).
As a consequence of this configuration is necessary to set
the CAn function, in the "Technical Menu" (par. 10.14.16).
3.4

Cooling Unit installation.

Unscrew the BF cap and fill the 5-litre tank.
The device is supplied by the factory with approximately
one litre of fluid already present.
It is important to periodically check, through the BM slot,
that the fluid remains at the "max" level.
As a coolant use water (preferably de-ionized) mixed with
alcohol, in the percentage shown in the table:
ambient temperature
0°C up to -5°C
-5°C up to a -10°C
water/alcohol
4L/1L
3,8L/1,2L
