1. INTRODUCTION

1.1. Recommendations and safety instructions

Read the manual carefully before starting to install the equipment and keep it in good condition near the
equipment throughout its lifetime.
These instructions are also available on the aldes website.

1.1.1. Precautions and restrictions on use

• This device is intended exclusively for domestic use.
• Do not connect this device to a chimney outlet or to equipment such as motor-driven hoods, air conditioning, heating,
clothes dryer, or any other system that discharges air or dust.
• Do not vacuum explosive vapours or air containing dust particles. Comply with the use ranges stated in this document.

1.1.2. Personal safety

• This device may be used by children at least eight years old and by persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental
capacities, or with no experience or previous knowledge, on the condition that they are correctly supervised or that they
have received instructions on the safe operation of the device and if the potential risks have been understood.
• Children should not be permitted to play with the device. Cleaning and servicing tasks should not be done by children
without suitable supervision.

1.1.3. Precautions for installation and maintenance

• The equipment must ideally be installed in a heated space and possibly in a frost-free room where the room temperature
does not exceed 40°C.
• Installing a thermodynamic water heater can be risky due to live components or moving mechanical parts. This equipment
must be installed, commissioned and repaired by qualified, trained personnel, in compliance with the standards in force
and best practices. The operations listed in this paragraph and in paragraphs 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9, especially those where lids
have to be removed, must be carried out without fail by a qualified professional.
• The maximum pressure of the water ductwork at the device inlet is 0.45 MPa.
• Where the water feed ductwork pressure is more than 0.45 MPa:
- a pressure reducing valve must be fitted in the installation, normally immediately after the water meter. This protects the
entire installation and avoids problems from too high a pressure (water hammer, accelerated wear of equipment, etc.),
- the pressure reducing valve will be selected, installed and set by qualified personnel in accordance with best practices
and the manufacturer's instructions. Depending on the factory setting of the chosen pressure reducing valve, it may be
necessary to set the value of the desired output pressure (this should be between 0.15 and 0.45 MPa). The setting must be
made without flow (distribution system valves closed).
• The installation must without fail include a new pressure limiter fitted to the cold water intake in accordance with best
practices. As water can flow from the pressure limiter discharge pipe, the discharge pipe must be kept in the open air.
The pressure limiter must be run regularly to remove limescale deposits and check that it is not blocked. A discharge pipe
connected to the pressure limiter must be installed in an area kept frost-free and sloping constantly downwards.
• It is absolutely essential to install a suitable water trap to ensure the smooth flow of condensates produced by the heat pump
(see §3.5.4). Failure to comply with this instruction can have serious consequences on the installation (poor condensate flow
and/or corrosion of the refrigeration system by acid gas seepage) and will invalidate the warranty.
• The electrical connection must be made by a qualified professional as per the rules of standard NF C 15-100. Refer to
paragraph 3.6 of the guide (pages 14 and 15) for the electrical connection.
• In particular, a circuit breaker device with an opening distance of at least 3 mm on each pole, as well as a protective relay
with a suitable current rating, must be installed in the fixed ducts (circuit breaker). The copper conductors must have a
cross section of at least 1.5 mm².
• The product's power supplies (general 230 VAC power supply and 230 VAC peak signal supply) must be switched off before
any maintenance or cleaning takes place.
• Make sure that the thermodynamic water heater cannot start running accidentally.
• If one of the power supply cords is damaged, it must be replaced by the professional who installed the product or similarly
qualified persons to avoid danger.
