Rapid trimming
• The fan effect of the rotating line can be used to achieve quick and easy thinning. Hold the line
above the ground to be thinned in a parallel position and move the machine backwards and
forwards.
• To achieve satisfactory results in rapid cutting and trimming, the engine must be running at full
speed.
WARNING
Never cut if visibility is poor or in extreme temperatures or freezing conditions.
10.5 GRASS THINNING WITH A GRASS DISC
Preliminary checks
• Inspect the disc for cracks in the base of the teeth or in the area near the central hole. Replace the
disc if any cracks are present (par. 5.3).
• Check the support flange for cracks due to wear or overtightening. Replace the supporting flange
if any cracks appear (par. 5.3).
• Make sure that the retaining nut (Fig. 7.A) has not lost its retention capacity. The tightening force of
the fastening nut must be 25 Nm.
• Check that the disc cover (Fig. 3.A) is not damaged or cracked. Replace the disc cover if it appears
cracked.
NOTE
The grass disc can be used for all types of tall grass or weeds.
Working procedure
WARNING
• Avoid kickbacks as they can cause serious injuries. Kickback is a sudden lateral or forward
movement of the machine that occurs if the blade comes into contact with objects such as
large branches or stones, or if a piece of wood hits the wood blade during cutting. Contact
with a foreign object can also lead to loss of brushcutter control.
• Always follow the safety regulations. The brushcutter should only be used to cut grass or
small shrubs. Only cut wood with the appropriate disc. Do not cut metal, plastic, brick or
non-wooden building material. It is prohibited to cut other types of material. Do not use the
brushcutter as a lever to lift, move or break objects, or clamp it to fixed supports. It is strictly
prohibited to fit the brushcutter power take-off with tools or applications other than those
specified by the manufacturer.
• Avoid cutting close to fences, building walls, tree trunks, stones or other objects that could
cause the machine to overturn or damage the disc. For these types of operations, we
recommend you use the strimmer head. Also, bear in mind the increased risk of fragments
being projected.
• Never operate the machine with the cutting device perpendicular to the ground.
• Never operate the machine with a loose disc. If the disc becomes loose after being properly
secured, stop work immediately. It is possible that the retaining nut is worn and must be
replaced. Never use non-approved parts to secure the disc. If the disc continues to loosen,
please contact your local dealer.
