2. Position the CAN cable in the EMC screw connection Note the
following:
The stripped point (1) must be in contact with the earthing springs
|
(4) of the EMC screw connection.
The seal of the EMC screw connection (2) must lie directly on the
|
insulation (3).
The clamping range (2) is 11–17 mm.
If the clamping range is too large for the CAN cable used:
Insert the appropriate reduction (included in the delivery) into the EMC
|
screw connection (clamping range 8–12 mm).
3. Tighten the EMC screw connection (tightening torque 7 Nm).
The CAN cable is installed in the EMC screw connection
Connecting the CAN cable to the CAN distributor
1. Strip and remove the insulation from the CAN cable (approx. 50 mm).
2. Remove and insulate the braided shield at the end of the CAN cable.
Material damage due to damaged cables
If damaged, the strands may break and overheat.
Do not cut or damage the strands when stripping the insulation.
|
3. Strip the wires and attach a cable end sleeve on the wires. Note the
following:
All strands of the wires are fully inserted in the cable end sleeves.
|
4. Connect the wires to the 5-pin plug (included in delivery). Note the

5. Insert the plug into the corresponding connection of the CAN
distributor (see Fig. 3.5, page 18).
6. If you are not using one of the connections (C), (D), (G) or (H), insert a
terminating resistor between CAN H and CAN L.
If you are not using any of these connections, do not insert a
terminating resistor.
