SmartConnect
Operating manual
Brief description
The SmartConnect performs all the basic functions of a junction box for
photovoltaic systems (PV systems) with central inverters. The
SmartConnect brings the individual strings of the solar power system
together and monitors them. It transfers the supplied current via a main
cable to the generator switch box (GKK) or directly to the central inverter.
The SmartConnect features an integrated direct current main switch (DC
disconnect).
Functions
Protection of the central inverter against overvoltages as a result of
|
switching faults and cold weather conditions.
Protection of the central inverter if strings are connected with reversed
|
polarity.
Precise forward and reverse current limitation.
|
Parallel switching of individual strings.
|
The SmartConnect enables the solar generator to be flexibly switched at 8
inputs. Up to ten strings can be connected per interface, provided the
maximum input current of 20 A per input is not exceeded.
Intended use
The SmartConnect is designed only for use as a junction box for PV
systems with central inverters. Any other use will not be considered
intended use.
The SmartConnect may only be installed and operated in accordance with
the specifications (see Specifications, page 71) and operating conditions
(see Chapter 4.1, page 23).
Apart from the listed optional components (see Chapter 3.1, page 11), no
additional components must be installed in the SmartConnect.
Unauthorised modifications to the device which have not been checked
and approved by the manufacturer are not permitted.
Intended use also includes compliance with the specifications of this
Operating manual.
Standards and technical directives
A list of the standards and guidelines fulfilled by this device can be found
in the Declaration of Conformity on the manufacturer's homepage.
