to the control module) up to the point of impact. A distinction must
be made between stand height and sensor height.
The optimum protective effect exists from a fall height of approx.
1.7 metres to 4 m and only after a free fall. The protective effect
begins after the airbag has been deployed and inflated.
The SKYVEST system does not need to be actively triggered.
Ideally, the sensor is only activated approx. 1m after the „free fall"
has been reached, i.e. the sensor must have registered a free fall
for at least 450ms before it triggers!
However, unintentional triggering can occur if the wearer of the
SKYVEST behaves in a similar way to a fall or during movements
in everyday life or sport that are similar to those of a fall.
Unintentional triggering can occur if the carrier of the SKYVEST
jumps upwards or if there is a similarly rapid loss of height as in a
fall. This can be the case if the wearer runs down a staircase or
ladder quickly or if the wearer swings over an obstacle, lowers
themselves on a pole, swings down on a railing or jumps down
from a ladder or during all similar movements.
In the case of falls onto flat surfaces, the airbag can reduce the
impact force of the torso, but not of body parts that are not co-
vered by the airbag.
Depending on the fall, the torso can hit the ground in different
positions and the protective effect can vary accordingly.
The system inflates and the airbag comes out, so do not wear any
other clothing or jackets over the SKYVEST. If you are wearing
another jacket, jumper or other item of clothing, wear it under the
SKYVEST.
Avoid deep discharging the battery by not storing it for long peri-
ods when the battery status is flashing red and green. You should
fully charge the battery before storing it for a longer period of time.
Do not leave the system permanently connected to a power sour-
ce. Disconnect the connection when the battery is fully charged.
