7.4) Electronics/software
The electronics are state of the art on delivery. Skylotec provides tested
updates. The customer will be informed by Skylotec if an update is neces-
sary. The software is also checked during the annual revision and updated
if necessary.
7.5) Carrying systems
The use of the airbag is only permitted for authorised carrying systems
(vest/jacket).
The use of unauthorised systems voids the warranty. The carrying system
fulfils the requirements of the PPE regulation. To ensure that the airbag
achieves its full protective effect in the event of deployment, it is essential
that the carrying system is worn correctly.
8.) STORAGE AND SERVICE LIFE
Always fit the protective cap to the inflator outside the device. Store the
SKYVEST in a dry place protected from UV light and out of the reach of
children. Do not store the inflator and the SKYVEST in direct sunlight and
keep it away from acids and their vapours. Before storing the SKYVEST,
avoid deep discharging the battery. To ensure a long battery life, it is best
to charge the battery before the storage phase. The system should be
stored at a temperature between 15°C and 20°C.
If the recommended maintenance intervals of once a year are adhered
to by our customer service or a trained expert, the service life depends
largely on the degree of use and usually only affects the battery. Annual
maintenance can also be carried out by an external PPE expert in ac-
cordance with DGUV 312-906.
If used correctly, the service life of the inflator is 5 years. The production
date and the expiry date are marked on the inflator, see below. The expiry
date is 5 years after the production date. The vest is subject to normal
wear and tear and must be checked regularly and replaced if necessary. If
the service life of the inflator has expired, stop using the inflator and return
it to the manufacturer or dealer.
The outer vest and the airbag have a service life of 10 years from the date
of manufacture if used in accordance with the instructions.
If the carrying system (jacket, vest) is worn, the airbag can be conver-
ted into a new carrying system. The conversion is carried out by the ma-
nufacturer or you can proceed as described under 9.2. If you have any
questions, please contact the manufacturer. If damage to the carrying
system, the fasteners or the airbags is detected, they must be replaced
immediately.
