Soaking the smoking material will ex-

tend the preheating time of the Vari-
oSmoker. This will not extend the
smoking time.
5.2 Smoking food
NOTICE
It takes around 9 minutes for the first
smoke to form.
WARNING
Protect the VarioSmoker from
dripping fat
If you are using the bottom rack level,
slide another Gastronorm container
above the VarioSmoker so that fat does
not drip onto it. Otherwise, a fire may
occur.
1. Open the lid and fill the smoker mater-
ial in the VarioSmoker.
2. CAUTION! Fire hazard! If the VarioS-
moker lid cannot close, the smoker
material may ignite and set the unit on
fire. Close the lid.
3. Open the cabinet door.
4. Slide one Gastronorm container into
the top or bottom rack level and place
the VarioSmoker on top.
5. Connect the VarioSmoker to the
power supply.
6. Close the cooking cabinet door.

Manual mode
1. Switch on the VarioSmoker with the
mains switch.
