1. INTRODUCTION
The safety instructions found in this manual supplement and replace, where conflict exists, those found in the "User and
maintenance manual - self-priming centrifugal pumps - J". The safety instructions refer to the installation, use and maintenance
of conflict pumps protected from the risk of explosion and intended for use in areas where potentially explosive atmospheres are
present.
CAUTION. These instructions are essential for the pump to conform to the requirements of Directive 2014/34/EU
and must therefore be: known, available, understood and used.
CAUTION. The personnel in charge of the installation, inspection and maintenance of the pump must have
adequate technical preparation combined with suitable knowledge of the potentially explosive atmosphere and
the risks associated with it.
CAUTION. Any use of the pump that does not comply with the instructions indicated in the User and maintenance
manual and in this supplement will invalidate the requirements concerning safety and protection against the risk
of explosion.
CAUTION. The risks associated with the use of the pump in the precise conditions prescribed in the user and
maintenance manual and by the present supplement have been analysed: the analysis of the risks associated
with the interface with other system components is the installer's responsibility.
2. INSTALLATION SITE
The essential safety requirements against the risk of explosion in the classified areas are covered by Directives 2014/34/EU and
1999/92/EC.
3. MARKING AND GENERAL INFORMATION
The centrifugal pumps of the series J, OT and ST, in accordance with directive 2014/34/EU, have the following identification marking:
II 2/2 G Ex h IIB T5...T3 Gb X
