STORAGE
Long term storage of your
engine will require some pre-
ventive procedures to guard
against deterioration.

DRAIN THE FUEL
a
1. Drain the fuel tank, fuel
cock, and carburetor float
bowl.
a Carburetor drain plug
2. Pour a cup of SAE 10W30 or
20W40 motor oil into the
tank.
3. Shake the tank to coat the
inner surfaces thoroughly.
4. Drain off the excess oil.

ENGINE
1. Remove the spark plug,
pour about one tablespoon
of SAE 10W30 or 20W40
motor oil into the spark plug
hole and reinstall the spark
plug. Recoil start the engine
by
turning
times (with ignition off) to
coat the cylinder walls with
oil.
2. Pull the recoil starter until
you feel compression. Then
stop pulling. (This prevents
the cylinder and valves from
rusting).
3. Clean exterior of the engine
and apply a rust inhibitor.
4. Store the engine in a dry,
well-ventilated place, with
the cover placed over it.
5. The engine must remain in
a vertical position when
stored, carried or operated.

REMISAGE
Si vous remisez votre moteur pen-
dant une période prolongée, il faut
prendre certaines mesures préven-
tives afin de le protéger contre
toute détérioration.

VIDEZ LE CARBURANT
1. Videz le réservoir à carburant,
le robinet à carburant et la cuve
du carburateur.

2. Versez
une
dose
moteur SAE 10W30 ou 20W40
dans le réservoir.
3. Agitez le réservoir de manière
à bien en recouvrir les surfaces
internes.
4. Videz l'excès d'huile.

MOTEUR
1. Déposez la bougie, versez
environ une cuillère à soupe
d'huile SAE 10W30 ou 20W40
dans l'orifice de la bougie, puis
remontez la bougie. Essayez à
plusieurs reprises de mettre le
moteur en marche à l'aide du
lanceur (en laissant l'allumage
hors circuit). Cette précaution
permettra d'enduire d'huile la
paroi du cylindre.
2. Tirez sur le cordon du lanceur
jusqu'à ce que vous sentiez une
certaine compression; cessez
alors de tirer (ceci empêche le
cylindre et les soupapes de
rouiller).
3. Nettoyez l'extérieur du moteur
et appliquez un produit anti-
rouille.
4. Remisez le moteur dans un
endroit sec et bien aéré, en pre-
nant soin de le couvrir.
5. Le moteur doit rester en posi-
tion verticale lorsque vous le
remisez, le transportez ou l'uti-
lisez.
