Installation instructions
tion of the locking unit (see fig. 30). Ensure proper polarities (see fig. 31/see fig. 32): plus cable (red) to plus
connection (+ symbol on battery), minus cable (grey) to minus (no symbol).
INFORMATION
Please ensure that the full cable cross-section is maintained after shortening.

INFORMATION
The E-MAG knee joint is equipped with polarity protection: In case of incorrect polarity, a short-circuit is avoided
by turning off the electronics. If the E-MAG knee joint system fails to indicate operational readiness for no appar
ent reason (see Section 5.2) after the cables are connected, please check the polarity.
Connect the locking units of the battery cable (see fig. 33/see fig. 34).
NOTICE
Risk of cable damage
Shortening, extending and frequent bending can destroy the cables between the joint and electronics, and
between the battery and electronics. If possible, do not bend or crease the electronics cable until it is ready to be
fastened into its final position.
Install the cable from the E-MAG knee joint to the electronics. If necessary, route it in flat loops until it lies against
the socket without tension between the knee joint and electronics. Press the loops onto each other and fasten the
cable with adhesive tape into the casing. Electric connections can oxidise. Protect contacts and cable transitions
with 633F11 silicone grease (see fig. 35).
