Malfunction
Paint spray gun does
not shut off air.
Material bubbles up in
gravity flow cup.
Corrosion on air noz-
zle threading, material
passage (material
connection) or paint
spray gun body.
Spray medium es-
capes behind paint
needle packing.
Paint spray gun drip-
ping at fluid tip pin.
Cause
Air piston seat dirty.
Air piston is worn.
Atomized air entering
gravity flow cup via
paint passage. Paint
nozzle not tightened
enough. Air nozzle not
screwed on complete-
ly, air circuit clogged,
faulty seating or dam-
aged nozzle insert.
Cleaning fluid (aque-
ous) remains too long
on gun.
Unsuitable cleaning
agent.
Faulty or missing paint
needle packing.
Paint needle dam-
aged.
Paint needle dirty.
Foreign body between
paint needle tip and
paint nozzle.
Nozzle set damaged.
Corrective action
Clean air piston seat.
Read and follow
cleaning instructions
(see 10).
Replace air piston and
air piston packing.
Secure, clean or re-
place parts.
Have gun body re-
placed. Read and follow
cleaning instructions
(see 10).
Replace the paint nee-
dle packing.
Replace nozzle set
(see 9.2).
Clean paint needle.
Read and follow
cleaning instructions
(see 10).
Clean paint nozzle and
paint needle. Read and
follow cleaning instruc-
tions (see 10).
Replace nozzle set
(see 9.2).
