Table 4 on page 61 sketches the control
panel operation logic, whereas table 5 on
the same page shows the various display
readings.
As it is plain from table 4, to carry out a
programmed cycle from standby status, when
the display reads "Pres/strt", simply press
the "Select" key to go to cycle selection,
select the cycle using the UP/DOWN arrow
keys and then press the "Start/Stop" button.
Conversely, to carry out a special cycle from
standby status, when the display reads "Pres/
strt", press the "Select" key twice: the dis-
play will read standard drying time = 025'.
Select the desired drying time using the UP/
DOWN arrow keys.
Then press the "Select" key again: the dis-
play will read the standard drying time =
060°. Select the desired drying time using
the UP/DOWN arrow keys.
Press the "Select" key again: the display will
read the maximum cool-down time C05'.
Select the desired cool-down time using the
UP/DOWN arrow keys (consider that cool-
down stops as soon as the temperature drops
to 35°). Then press the "Start/Stop" button
to start the cycle.
WARNING: The settings of special cycles
are kept until the control card is discon-
nected from the power mains (this can be
done by simply pushing the emergency but-
ton). When the machine is powered again,
the special cycle settings will be reset to
factory settings.
7.3 DESCRIPTION OF STANDARD
CYCLES
The machine has 10 ready programs re-
sponding to most drying requirements (from
1 to 10). Table 6 on apage 61 below shows
factory-programmed cycles:
7.4 ALARMS
The machine constantly monitors param-
eter status and safety status and if necessary
highlights any malfunction. We are here-
with enclosing a troubleshooting guide pro-
viding info on alarm causes and the relevant
solutions. If alarm should re-occur, contact
the technical service.
Alarm messages are as follows:
AL-1 The door is open and this prevents all
functions. Shut the door and press the "Start/
Stop" push-button.
AL-2 The fluff filter cleaning lid is open
and this prevents all functions. Shut the lid
and press the "Start/Stop" push-button.
AL-3 The gas flame has failed to ignite after
the electronic controller has made three
consecutive attempts and the machine has
shut down. Press the "Reset Gas" button on
the back of the machine and then the "Start/
Stop" button on the control panel.
Cause : the gas stopcock may be closed or
the gas tank may be empty.
AL-4 The pressure switch has tripped, which
indicates poor air axchange in the machine.
The machine has shut down.
Cause :
a) The fluff filter needs cleaning.
b) The exhaust fan turning direction is
wrong (cfr. Electrical connection).
c) The exhaust fan or flue needs cleaning.
d) The laundry load exceeds drum capacity
(cfr. technical details data following dryer
type.
e) The flue duct is too long or includes too
many bends
AL-5 Overload in the exhaust fan motor.
Wait until the fan motor has cooled down
and then restart the machine by the "Start/
Stop" button.
Cause :
a) The fluff filter needs cleaning.
b) The exhaust fan or flue needs cleaning.
7.5 PROGRAMMING THE EDU LOGIC
CARD
Although the standard programming has
considered the most common drying re-
quirements, the electronic control card can
be programmed by a PC with Windows®
OS and a a serial port RS232, using a
specific programming kit available from
our after-sales service.
7.6 USEFUL ADVICE
Do not load the machine with fabrics that
have been cleaned, dampened, washed or
stained with inflammable, explosive or
chemical substances unless they have un-
dergone a wash cycle first. To avoid per-
sonal injury and property damage, read the
instructions carefully before using the ap-
pliance.
Keep solvents and other flammable liquids
far from the dryer, preferably in a dry and
airy place unavailable to unauthorised per-
sons. Store cleaning agents and wax far
from the reach of children, preferably in
locked compartments. Use this appliance to
dry only water-washed fabrics that admit
tumble drying. Check that the manufac-
turer labels on the garments allow tumble
drying. Do not allow children to play with
or near the dryer. Touching the drum or the
laundry during operation can cause burns.
In case of accidental contact, see a doctor.
Do not smoke near the dryer or during
operation. Do not override safety devices.
Maintenance or servicing can be carried out
by authorised personnel only.
Do not touch the door glass during opera-
tion: burns may ensue.
Do not switch the appliance off when tem-
perature in the drum is above 50°C.
If a potential drop should occur during
operation, open the door and remove the
fluff filter cleaning lid. Start the machine
22
again as soon as power is restored.
For best energy savings in the laundry room,
the recommended moisture content in the
items to be ironed is 5-20%.
Do not tumble-dry garments that have not
been spun or are dripping: the maximum
water content in the fabrics to be dried is
120%. Otherwise dry half a load
(cfr.maximum load indicated in the techni-
cal details chart).
Do not wait for the dryer to be cold before
starting a new cycle.
The dryer performs best when ambient hu-
midity is low: prefer fine days for operation.
To calculate residual moisture, weigh the
laundry before washing and after drying.
The difference between these two values is
water content. The figure obtained by divid-
ing water content by the initial weight is
residual moisture.
Before moving or servicing the dryer and at
any rate after finishing operation, discon-
nect the electric supply and unplug the
machine without pulling the cord; also shut
the gas and steam supplies.
After servicing, make sure that the machine
is entirely reassembled and that the parts
preventing accidental access to moving and
live components are back in place.
WARNING!
Keep this manual near the appliance and
make it available to all present or prospec-
tive operators.
Do not use antistatic agents or detergents
unless they are recommended by the manu-
facturer.
7.7 ADVICE
Do not leave the machine on to no purpose.
Turn off the main cutoff switch on the wall
and shut gas, steam and condensate stop-
cocks when the machine is inoperative.
When the machine is on, mind especially
the following:
WARNING!
Do not touch parts affected by hot air, i.e.
exhaust ducts, steam and condensate pipes,
the door glass, the lid and top back panel.
When the cycle is over, thermal inertia
keeps parts warm even 30 mins later.
The door has no lock because the drum is
large and it can contain a person that should
be able to open the door using a moderate
pressure. Therefore, when starting a cycle
with especially large-size fabrics, it may be
necessary to hold the door closed for a few
drum revolutions.
If power should fail when a cycle is under-
way, open the door and the filter cleaning lid
immediately.
Before any cleaning or servicing, ensure
that the main cutoff switch is off and the gas/
steam and condensate stopcocks are closed.
