REMOVING THE FRONT WHEEL

Position the motorcycle in such a way that the front
wheel is lifted from the ground.
Remove the two screws (1) and the brake calliper (2).
Loosen the bolts (3) holding the wheel axle (4) to the
front fork mounts. Hold the head of the wheel axle
in place, and unscrew the bolt (5) on the opposite
side; draw the wheel axle out.
Note*: Do not operate the front brake lever when
the wheel has been removed; this causes the calliper
pistons to move outwards. After removal, lay down
the wheel with brake disc on top.

REASSEMBLING THE FRONT WHEEL
Fit the L.H. spacer (D) on the wheel hub.
Fit the wheel between the fork legs.
Fit the previously greased wheel pin (2) from the
right-hand side until it is up against the left-hand
leg; it is advisable to turn the wheel while carrying
out this operation. Tighten the screw (3) on the fork

L.H. side but DO NOT lock it.
Now, pump for a while, pushing the handlebar
downwards until you are sure that the fork legs are
perfectly aligned. Lock: the screws (1) on the R.H. leg
(10,4 Nm - 1,06 Kgm - 7.67 ft/lb), the screw (3) on the
L.H. side (50 Nm - 5,09 Kgm - 36,87 ft/lb), the screws
(1) on the L.H. leg (10,4 Nm - 1,06 Kgm - 7.67 ft/lb).
Fit the brake calliper on the disc; assemble the cal-
3
liper on its mounting plate and tighten the two
screws (4) at 25,5 Nm - 2,6 Kgm - 18.8 ft/lb. Ensure
that the brake disc slides between the calliper pads
without any friction or hard spots.
Note*: After reassembly, pull the brake control le-
ver until the pads are against the brake disc.
