Select the manufacturer in the window and add the device "AES Fieldbus Cou-

pler" from the "AES Modular/Slots" hierarchy.
The bus coupler is automatically detected when you select the menu
item "Scan Devices" from the context menu for the item "I/O De-
vices".

5.4 Configuring the valve system

5.4.1 Sequence of M1 slots and modules

The components installed in the unit are actuated via the module procedure of
the EtherCAT, which mirrors the physical configuration of the components.
The numbering begins on the right side of the bus coupler (AES-D-BC-ECAT) in
the valve zone with the valve module (module 1 in Fig. 7). The right side may only
contain one module. The numbering of the modules is continued in the I/O zone
AVENTICS™ EtherCAT | R412018142-BAL-001-AG | English
(module 2 to module 4 in Fig. 7). There, numbering is continued starting from
the bus coupler to the left end.
M1 slots further divide the M1 valve module. The numbering of the M1 slots be-
gins to the right side of the bus coupler (AES-D-BC-ECAT). Bridge cards are not
taken into account. Pressure regulators occupy one M1 slot (see M1 slot 5 in
Fig. 7). Supply boards and UA-OFF boards occupy one M1 slot (see M1 slot 7 in
Fig. 7).

5.4.2 Creating a configuration list

The configuration described in this section refers to the example from
Fig. 7.
In your PLC configuration software, open the window that displays the config-

uration and the window that contains the modules.
Both windows can be found in the "Slots" tab in the "TwinCAT" program (2).
