4.7. Switching the generating set off
Always ensure that the generating set is suitably ventilated: the motor continues to give out heat after the
generating set has been shut down.
Ensure that the fuel tap and fuel tank vent are closed after each use.
IMPORTANT
Switch off and disconnect the devices used (A - 12 & A - 14).
Set the economy operation switch (A - 10) to the Hare position and allow the generating set to run without any load for a few
minutes.
Set the ON / OFF switch (A - 9) to the
Turn the fuel tap (A - 5) to the "OFF" position.
Close the fuel tank vent (A - 4) by turning it one complete revolution in a clockwise direction, whilst holding the fuel tank cap (A - 3)
tightly to prevent it from opening.

5. Generating set maintenance

5.1. Reminder of use

The maintenance operations to be carried out are detailed in the maintenance table. The interval for this is supplied as a guide and for
generating sets operating with fuel and oil which conform to the specifications given in this manual. Shorten the maintenance intervals
according to the conditions in which the generating set is used, and as required (for example, clean the air filter more frequently if the
generating set is used in dusty environments).

5.3. Performing the maintenance operations

5.3.1 Changing the engine oil

To ensure that the oil service is performed quickly and correctly, it is recommended that the oil is changed when the engine is warm
(start the generating set and allow it to run for a few minutes if necessary).
Observe the advice for protecting the environment (see § Guidelines for protecting the environment) and drain the oil into an
appropriate container.
Using a screwdriver, remove the screw (A - 21) and the inspection flap (A - 20).
Remove the oil filler cap (A - 2) and fit the oil drain spout (B - 3).
Position an appropriate container under the oil drain spout and tilt the generating set to allow the oil to flow out.
After all the oil has been drained out, reposition the generating set upright and use a funnel to top up with the recommended oil
(see § Specifications).
Refit the oil filler cap and the drain spout.
Check that there are no oil leaks, and wipe away any traces of oil with a clean cloth.
Close the inspection flap by tightening the inspection flap mounting screw correctly.
