The grade can be adjusted as follows:
– Rolling Entry
Briefly press button 20.1 or 20.2:
The grade is increased/decreased by one percent-
age point.
Press and hold button 20.1 or 20.2:
The grade is increased/decreased with increasing
speed.
or
– Direct Entry
Press button 21 to activate the direct entry mode.
The 1. digit is highlighted.
Press button 20.1 or 20.2 to set a larger or smaller
number.
Advance to the next digit by pressing button 19.1
or 19.2 and set the desired number again with but-
ton 20.1 or 20.2.
Press button 21 or wait approx. 5 seconds.
The laser beam is set to the entered grade.
or
– Rapid-setting the 0 % Grade
Press buttons 20.1 and 20.2 at the same time.
The grade is set to zero and the measuring tool lev-
els in.
Note: Analogue to the measuring tool, grade adjust-
ment can also be carried out with the remote control.
Adjusting the Lateral Alignment
The lateral alignment of the laser beam can be
adjusted within a range of ± 15 %.
The standard indication (see "Standard Indication of
the PipeLaser", page 30) displays the lateral align-
ment.
The laser beam is vertically aligned (no deviation left
or right from the axis centre) when the arrow symbol is
indicated in the centre.
Note: When the possibility of changing the setting
was locked (see "Locking Settings", page 32), lateral
alignment is not possible.
The lateral alignment can be adjusted as follows:
– Rolling Entry
Briefly press button 19.1 or 19.2:
The laser beam is deflected in small steps to the
left or right.
Press and hold button 19.1 or 19.2:
The laser beam is deflected to the left or right with
increasing speed.
or
– Rapid-setting 0 % Lateral Alignment
Press buttons 19.1 and 19.2 at the same time.
The lateral alignment is set to zero.
Note: Analogue to the measuring tool, lateral align-
ment adjustment can also be carried out with the
remote control.

Locking Settings
The settings for grade and lateral alignment can be
locked.
– Button 22 allows for settings to be locked "
enabled "
".
The standard indication (see "Standard Indication of
the PipeLaser", page 30) displays the set function.
Note: Analogue to the measuring tool, locking set-
tings can also be carried out with the remote control.
PipeLaser Menus
The measuring tool can be configured with the menus.
– Press button 18.
The main menu is displayed.
– Select a submenu with buttons 19.1/19.2 and
20.1/20.2.
The selected submenu point is indicated by an
arrow symbol on the side.
Additionally, the name of the submenu is display in
the respective system language in a line below the
menu symbols.
– Press button 21 to call up the desired submenu.
Note: Submenus can be protected against unauthor-
ised access (" " symbol next to the submenu). Ena-
bling is possible only via the "SECURITY" submenu or
by entering a password.

Entering a Password
When a submenu is password-protected against
unauthorised access, the password must first be
entered after calling up the submenu.

The available numbers are shown at the bottom of the
display; the placeholders for 4 numbers are shown at
the top.
– Select a number with buttons 19.1 or 19.2.
– Press button 21 to set the selected number at the
current cursor position in the display.
The cursor automatically advances to the next
number position.
As soon as all 4 numbers of the password have been
entered, the submenu is called up.
Entering a false password deletes the entry and you
are prompted to enter the password again.
Pressing button 18 will display the main menu again.
