"Position of the Remote Control" Submenu
In the "Position of the Remote Control" submenu, the
indication of the lateral alignment with respect to the
position of the remote control can be adjusted.
When the position of the remote control is set cor-
rectly, the arrow symbol will correspond with the laser
beam direction, regardless of whether you are stand-
ing in front or behind the measuring tool with the
remote control.

Working Advice

Sighting Out a Reference Mark
While working, periodically check the initial set-up
height to ensure that it has not changed.
At the beginning of your work, make a reference mark
at a suitable distance (furthest possible) on a stable
surface (e.g. on a tree or building), which you can use
as your reference point.
Adjusting the Correct Height when Setting Up
the Measuring Tool (see figures C1 – C2)
Note: All height data are given with reference to the
canal ground (lowest point in the canal pipe).
– Fasten the measuring tool to a height-adjustable
stand (trivet plate mount) or position it in the man-
hole cone or riser with the appropriate legs.
– Use the three adjusting legs to set up the trivet
plate mount as level as possible (this is not neces-
sary when using self-levelling legs or when the
measuring tool is set up with the correct leg
length).
– Take care that the measuring tool is positioned
such that the laser beam is in the centre of the
manhole cone or riser.
– Use a levelling instrument or a rotational laser level
to set up the measuring tool at the correct height
(necessary depth X).
– Add the height Y of the levelling instrument/rota-
tional laser level above the reference point B to the
depth X.
The total height A now is the distance from the level-
ling instrument/rotational laser level to the bottom of
the canal pipe.
Meaning
Position of the remote control
behind the measuring tool
= Indication of the lateral alignment
above the grade readout.
Arrow symbol points toward the
measuring tool: Laser beam points
away from the remote control.
Position of remote control in front of
the measuring tool = Indication of
the lateral alignment below the
grade readout.
Arrow symbol points away from the
measuring tool: Laser beam points
towards the remote control.
