IV. CHECKS AND MAINTENANCE
A. THE CHASSIS
For maintenance of the axles and the tailgate, refer to the manufacturer's
manual.
To be done by the user
After 100 Km
¶ Check the wheel nut tightening torque.
Every day, check the following before driving off:
¶ The coupling lock.
¶ The electrical equipment.
¶ The brakes.
¶ The tyre condition.
¶ The handbrake (full release).
¶ Prop condition (no cracks or deformation).
¶ Props retract fully
¶ Odometer in good working order.
¶ If you change the tractor unit: the braking pressures between the tractor
unit and the semitrailer (balance). ¶ This should be checked in a workshop
that has the appropriate equipment. If you are not changing the tractor unit,
check balance at least once a year.
¶ Drain the compressed air tanks.
After 2000 km and then every 5000 km:
¶ Check the tightening torque of the traction arm joints.
¶ Check the tightening torque of the wheel nuts.
¶ Check the tyre pressures
¶ The condition of the pipe filters located behind the coupling heads.
¶ Grease the worm screw and the prop nuts after cleaning.
Proceed as follows:
¶ Check that the pneumatic circuits are airtight.
Every year:
¶ Check wear on the prop worm screw and nut.
- Unscrew the rack and pinion jack as far as the rod limit
stop.
- Remove the closure plug (1) to open the grease nipple.
- Fill the nut grease pan with approximately 200g of
special BP JS 14-2 grease.
- Screw, unscrew and rescrew the screw as far as the
limit stop.
