22) Assembly of Drive Shaft
Attach pinion (B) gear nut 1 to drive shaft 2 temporarily.

Install bearing by using press and a suitable pipe 3.

Before installing bearing, be sure to clean drive shaft
installation face and apply gear oil.
Do not press drive shaft thread a directly.
Put a piece of protector (steel plate) b on
the tip of the shaft.
A nut that fits the thread can be used to protect
the shaft tip when pressing.

23) Removing Forward (A) Gear
Use commercially available bearing puller 1 to remove

Tighten universal puller plate 2 to make gap between

forward gear (A gear) and bearing 3.
Universal Puller Plate 2 :
P/N. 3AC-99750-0
Remove bearing 3.

Use two bladed screw drivers to remove ball bearing from
forward gear (A) gear.
Before removing, check bearing for play or
deflection. Replace if necessary.
