Automated Cleaning
NOTE!
Automated cleaning must be carried out only with devices that conform to the
currently valid version of EN ISO 15883.
Place the video lens in a perforated tray of the cleaning and disinfection unit and
make sure that the following steps are carried out during the cleaning program:
1. Prewashing with cold water, duration: >2 minutes
2. Draining
3. Cleaning with a mild, enzymatic cleaner at a min. of 40 °C (104 °F), duration:
>6 minutes
4. Draining
5. Neutralization with fully desalinated water at a min. of 30 °C (86 °F), dura-
tion: >2 minutes
6. Draining
7. Intermediate rinsing with fully desalinated water at a min. of 40 °C (104 °F),
duration: > 2 minutes.
CAUTION!
The perforated tray of the cleaning and disinfection unit may not be overloaded!
All instruments must be fully covered by the cleaning and disinfectant solution.
NOTE!
The use of a mild enzymatic cleaning agent is recommended.
Perform a visual check on the video lens (chapter 5 "Visual Inspection and Func-
tion Testing"). Visible residue may not be left on the video lens after cleaning.
Should dirt be visible after the cleaning cycle, the cleaning operation must be re-
peated.
6.2.1

Automated Disinfection

A disinfection temperature of 90 °C (194 °F) for a period of 5 minutes is recom-
mended for the thermal disinfection.
NOTE!
Comply with the national rules and regulations concerning the A0 value during
the thermal disinfection (EN ISO 15883).
NOTE!
The use of alcohol- or aldehyde-based cleaners or disinfectants is recommended
(such as Bacillol AF, Kohrsolin or Cidex). Do not use disinfectants based on sodi-
um percarbonate (such as Sekusept active) or any alkaline cleaners and disinfec-
tants.
6.2.2

Automated Drying

NOTE!
If drying is part of the automated cleaning, the drying temperature may not ex-
ceed 100 °C (212 °F).
